The quiet buzzing of small aircrafts on a summer’s afternoon give Artondale a distinctive feel. The comings and going of the small planes can be enjoyed from your house—or with a beer and a slice of pizza from The Hub at the airport itself.
Artondale is at the trainhead for two trails. The Cushman Trail runs for six miles, starting in Artondale and running west toward Borgen Boulevard. The Scott Pierson Trail leads east from Artondale into Tacoma, with beautiful views as you cross the Narrows.
